Agent Onboarding Werner
Overview of zapAgent Werner Functionality
1. General information
The zapliance Agent Werner is responsible for SAP data extraction and AI-based data preparation in line with the agreed service package (“Content Bundle”). Werner operates exclusively in zapAnalytics within your locally installed zapHome instance. A prerequisite for using Werner is the technical setup of zapHome OnPrem. The analysis results are displayed in Power BI Desktop and can be flexibly processed further—also in conjunction with other zapliance agents.
To ensure the efficient and structured implementation of your agent Werner, it is essential that the following topics are carefully coordinated: project-specific details, technical requirements and configurations, the onboarding process in zapAnalytics, and the integration of Power BI for advanced analysis and reporting. The next sections will provide detailed guidance on how to align these aspects for a successful onboarding experience.
2. Organizational Details
- Objective: What is the purpose of the project?
- Data Scope: Definition of the analysis scope (company codes, fiscal years, client).
- Timeline: Start and end dates of the project.
- User Access zapAnalytics: Which users should be set up in zapAnalytics?
- User Access Power BI: Which users should be set up in Power BI?
3. Technical Details
- SAP RFC User:
Werner uses the Remote Function Call (RFC) interface to efficiently extract data from the SAP system. All extracted data is stored locally in a PostgreSQL database as a copy of SAP data. Only SAP standard function modules and a SAP user with reading rights (system or dialog) are needed.
Detailed information regarding the setup of the RFC-User can be found in the Knowledge Base article: Setup Guide SAP
- SAP Web GUI
When setting up data extraction and configuring the SAP connection, you can specify a SAP Web GUI URL. This URL acts as a central point for the entire project and is used across multiple dashboards. By providing this URL, users can easily access individual SAP documents directly from the PowerBI Dashboards, without additional effort of searching for the specific item.
Detailed information can be found in the Knowledge Base article: Setting Up Web GUI
4. Onboarding zapAnalytics
- Content Bundle:
After the client provides the relevant company codes, fiscal years, and SAP clients, zapliance will supply a Content Bundle via OneDrive in the designated exchange folder. This bundle must be uploaded during project setup in zapAnalytics, after which data processing can begin. - Detailed information regarding Content Bundles can be found in the Knowledge Base article: Content Bundles.
- Parquet Files
After data processing, zapAnalytics produces output files as defined in the content bundle. This typically includes zapAnalytics result files (.parquet) and Power BI template files (.pbit). After importing the .parquet files in the .pbit, you can save the PowerBI Report as a .pbix file. These files are independent of zapAnalytics.
5. Onboarding Power BI
After successful data processing, the Power BI dashboards can be created. The following prerequisites are necessary:
- 16GB RAM on the virtual machine (VM) or the auditor's notebook.
- Installation of the latest version of Power BI Desktop.
Detailed setup information can be found in the article: Setup Guide Power BI
